SALVATION IS FOR EVERYONE
"And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?"
~Romans 10:8b-14

AN ANSWERED PRAYER Prior to first day of ministering in the Matara area, we were praying and seeking guidance from God on who could help us minister. As we continue to study and learn our Spanish daily, we prayed and asked God for someone (one of our Peruvian brothers and sisters in Christ) to work along-side this ministry and help us with sharing the GOOD NEWS and with possible language barriers. Each day we prayed, and one evening (two days before the first day in Matara), we heard someone knocking on our gate outside our home. We looked out and did not see anyone. Minutes later, we heard the knock again. This time, we saw our dear friend from Monte Sion Church, Raquel (a.k.a "Rockie"). She told us that she felt God leading her to come and visit us. We sat down together around the kitchen table and shared an evening meal. This was the first time in nine months that Raquel had come to our home alone to spend time with our family. We all sat around and shared stories of our families and our personal relationships with JESUS CHRIST. We shared with her how we were beginning a new Bible study in Matara, and immediately, Raquel's eyes lit up with joy. She shared how she really LOVED that area and the people there, and asked us if she could join us to help us each week. She knew she had to work at her job, but felt her boss would let her leave early each Wednesday to ride up the mountain to Matara (about 45 minutes). Two days later, her boss reworked her hours, and Raquel was with us on our first day of ministry. Thank you, Lord, for answered prayers! What a blessing it is to have Raquel with us each week, seeing her LOVE and COMPASSION for all the young children and youth in this area. Thank you, Raquel, for your heart for sharing Jesus Christ with others!
