Six Fervent Travelers
Six fervent travelers
Their hearts full of love,
Set out on a journey
Ordained from above
They packed for their mission
With Bibles and tools
And the sweet love of Jesus,
Some say they were fools
To spend all their fortunes,
Their talents and time
To try to reach people
Of a whole different kind
A carpenter, a plumber,
A seller of land,
A nurse and two maidens
And this was their plan
To go to a people who
Might not have heard
And tell them of Jesus
And give them His Word
They feed them, they loved them
They showed them the way
To make it to Heaven
And live there someday
They walked thru the rough
And stony byways
Climbed mountain peeks
And stood there amazed
That God in his mercy
Had allowed them to see
And used them on purpose
To reach such as these.
